Welcome to the first edition of [EDIT], where we bring you the highlights of our full-service agency work for the last quarter.

In the [EDIT] we will also share some of our recent work with other Editions clients. This month we feature data specialists Parameta Solutions and announce our recent award wins for BNY Investments.

HSBC CMB UK Events support

We have been working closely with the CMB UK events team, supporting on content and promotion for their busy events programme. During September, we provided a film crew and produced three ‘on the day’ social videos for their WIRED Trailblazer events in London, Birmingham and Bristol.

October also saw us support the team’s Strategies for Growth webinar and their partnership with the UK Black Business Week and Show. This included:

  • Pre-event social promotion of the events and HSBC UK sessions
  • Scripting and lines of questions for both events
  • Filming at the Black Business Show and producing a series of post-event social assets

Supporting events from preparation through to delivery and output is a fantastic way to stay aligned with the project. Being able to produce video assets ‘on the day’ also maximises their impact and timeliness. During these events, we have mixed up the filming style to help differentiate them from previous projects and lift the final output to new heights. As a result, our event support is highly valued by the client.

HSBC CMB UK Capex Report

HSBC CMB UK’s 2024 Capex survey received over 1500 responses from business leaders across the country, exploring their levels of optimism and capex intentions. We supported the team by writing up the 16-page report and copy for the campaign landing page as well as developing a suite of assets to support promotion: including emails, internal talking points for frontline staff to align narratives, organic social assets and a document ad for paid social activity. We also supported with scripting and questions for a LinkedIn Live event.

  • The survey provides a fascinating snapshot of UK business confidence and ambitions, so it was a wonderful opportunity to support the client in bringing the insights and findings to life.
  • The report is already performing well in the early weeks since launch, with high numbers of downloads and interactions with social posts. We are pleased to report that HSBC CMB UK was very happy with the final output as well as the responsiveness and support throughout the project. The internal comms we worked on had a clear CTA to record client conversations, and to date the report has driven over 200 such conversations.
  • The great challenge (and opportunity) with the Capex Report is to deliver a quick turnaround project from receipt of survey results to producing the final written report. This year, however, the process was improved with faster turnaround on case studies and interviews with key stakeholders helping to shape their inputs. We were also part of the campaign working group which allowed us to hear feedback from stakeholders first hand.

International Business Guides

The International Business Guides continue to be a project that truly shows HSBC’s global reach and expertise, and we are delighted to have been working with HSBC on these guides since 2017. The Guides are aimed at businesses who are looking to expand overseas: combining actionable commercial and cultural insights with rich detail on local values and customs. As a marketing asset, they drive conversion by generating qualified leads for HSBC’s pipeline and reinforcing the bank’s position as the top choice for international trade.

The suite of guides currently covers 34 key markets and delves into critical areas of trade, taxes, sustainability, labour, working practices and more.

In 2017, we developed the initial suite of 18 guides. Since this time, we have overseen the development of an additional 15 guides covering key markets. We have also managed 22 translations across key languages, yearly data updates, and a major brand update to the look and feel of the guides.

The International Business Guides:

  • Reinforce HSBC’s brand as the natural partner for overseas opportunity.
  • Deliver qualified leads by engaging the audience with dynamic and insightful content.
  • Empower local marketing and frontline teams to engage their clients and prospects on the topic of international expansion.
  • Demonstrate HSBC’s authority as the bank best placed to support international trade.
  • Maximise operational efficiencies by carefully managing the refresh of data.

IBGs in numbers:

  • Total number of guides: 34
  • Translations: 22 across Spanish, French, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese
  • Coordinating yearly updates to data and content across 34 guides in English and 22 translations – equating to approx. 6,120 updates across 6 years

Recent wins

Our multi-format, advisor channel marketing activity promoting BNY Investment’s Fixed Income solutions has picked up awards from the prestigious financial services think tank, Gramercy Institute, as well as a Gold at the global Elevation Awards for B2B marketing excellence.

Executed across web, social, programmatic, ABM and live events, the campaign built on our ‘Be Intentional with your fixed income’ proposition and evolved it into a comprehensive funnel-led campaign.
